Johnny Jackson was born in Dallas,Texas and started tattooing at the age of 15 with not so professional settings. At age 17 moved out on his own quit school in 11th grade and proceeded on his path. Shortly in trouble with the law he ended up down south until 1992 when he moved to Houston with no family or friends. Uprooted and in a new environment Johnny worked hard to get his foot in the door at Larry Shaws in Houston. After landing his first tattooing job professionally ,the time, one of the most respected studios in town.His confidence and desire kept pushing him forward toward his desires to perfect his tattooing and was very influential in the Houston area among other artists. In 1999 Johnny opens Texas Body Art and now runs it with help from a star line up of artists. Johnny tends to lean toward New School ,Neo,and portrait work. I generally like to do my own custom work. Meaning I draw your design and when I tattoo the design it is thrown away, never to be done again. Prices range at 100 bucks an hour but generally anything over 4 or 5 hours will be even cheaper due to the fact I love to do my bigger custom pieces. I started professionally in 1992 and started at Shaws here in Houston. I tatted there for 5 years back in th day when we stayed up all night till early morning tattooing on the strip. I can do portraits,black and grey, traditional, oriental,and my cover-up work is great as well. If you have old faded tatts that need to be reworked I can make them look as good as new. I dont respect price shoppers when the quality of my work will be compromised when there is not enough time to create the art.
